Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the hire of recycled plastic moving crates ("crates") from The Collective Network Ltd, trading as Eco Crate ("Eco Crate"). By placing an order online, by email or phone, the customer ("hirer") agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

General Terms

1.1 The hire period begins on the date the crates are delivered to the hirer by Eco Crate staff and ends when the crates are uplifted by Eco Crate.

1.2 If multiple parties agree to the hire, all parties are jointly and severally liable for all payments related to the hire.

1.3 Pricing for residential customers will be displayed on the Eco Crate website. Commercial customers will receive a tailored quote according to their requirements. Eco Crate reserves the right to change pricing at any time. Once an order has been placed and accepted, prices are fixed and cannot be changed.

1.4 All hire equipment, including crates and moving trolleys, remains the property of Eco Crate.

1.5 All prices are stated in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST unless specified otherwise.

Delivery and Inspection

2.1 Delivery of crates to a third party nominated by the hirer is considered delivery to the hirer.

2.2 The hirer must inspect the crates upon delivery and immediately notify Eco Crate of any fault, damage, or discrepancies in the number of crates delivered.

2.3 If Eco Crate is unable to fulfil an order, the customer will be contacted within 48 hours and issued a full refund for any payment made.

2.4 A delivery fee of $45 applies to all orders outside a 15km radius of postcode 0627, payable upon delivery of the goods. Orders are only delivered/picked up within the Auckland region.

2.5 Delivery and pick-up will only be made to/from ground level. Customers must ensure crates are accessible at ground level during both delivery and pick-up.

2.6 Someone must be available at the delivery address to sign for the crates upon delivery and pick-up, unless alternative arrangements are made to leave the crates in a secure place. If left in a secure place, the Company is not liable for any loss or damage.

Care and Use of Hired Goods

3.1 The hirer must use the crates safely and in accordance with the law. Crates must not be used to transport unpackaged food products, hazardous materials, chemicals, or flammables.

3.2 The hirer is responsible for ensuring crates are returned in good, usable condition, with all labels removed (reasonable wear and tear accepted). Crates returned in unacceptable condition will incur a cleaning fee of $20 per crate or replacement fees of $60 per crate and $120 per moving trolley (excluding GST).

3.3 The rental term is for 1-4 weeks, as specified during the booking process. Late returns without an agreed extension will incur additional charges, which will be communicated once finalized.

Loss, Theft, and Damage

4.1 The hirer is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to the hire goods while in their possession.

4.2 If crates are lost or damaged, payment for replacement or repair is due within 7 days of the invoice date.

4.3 If the hirer fails to return the crates, Eco Crate or its agents may enter the hirer’s premises to repossess the crates, without liability for any damage caused during the repossession.

Payments and Charges

5.1 Payment is required at the time of order placement unless other arrangements have been agreed upon in writing.

5.2 Overdue invoices will incur interest at a rate of 2.5% per calendar month, continuing until full payment is made.

5.3 The hirer agrees to indemnify Eco Crate against all costs incurred in recovering overdue payments, including legal fees and collection agency charges.

Cancellations

6.1 Orders may be canceled up to 24 hours before the scheduled delivery. Late cancellations will incur a $35 cancellation fee.

Privacy and Security

7.1 Personal information collected for the purpose of hiring crates will be used solely by The Collective Network Ltd and will not be shared or distributed to third parties.

7.2 Eco Crate uses a secure hosted payment system. Eco Crate does not access or store customer credit card details.
