We’ll deliver your clean, reusable Eco Crates before your move, you pack and move with them, and we collect them again when you’re finished.

The number of Eco Crates you’ll need will depend on the size of your home and how much you have to move.

Eco Crates are generously sized, strong and designed specifically for moving household and business contents. Each crate holds 73 litres and can carry approximately 25kg. They are designed to be spacious yet comfortable to carry.

Their uniform size also means they stack neatly and efficiently, making them easier to store and transport during your move.

Our standard residential moving packages include two weeks of crate hire.

If you need your Eco Crates for longer, additional weeks are available at a discounted weekly rate, so there’s no need to rush your unpacking. Simply select the timeframe needed on the product page before adding to your cart, the hire price updates to match the hire period selected.

For commercial and business customers, hire is more flexible. You can choose both the number of crates you require and how long you need them for. Contact us and we’ll tailor the hire to suit your move.

Eco Crate provides moving box hire across Auckland.

Free local delivery and pickup applies within our local delivery area of 10km from Beach Haven. Delivery is available to other Auckland areas for an additional charge.

Eco Crate delivers and collects throughout the week, subject to availability.

When placing your order, you can provide your preferred delivery and pickup dates.

We recommend booking ahead where possible, particularly around weekends and busy moving periods.

If there is a safe and accessible place where we can leave or collect your Eco Crates, you do not usually need to be home.

Please provide clear delivery or pickup instructions when ordering if you won’t be there.

Eco Crates arrive ready to use, so there are no cardboard boxes to build and no packing tape required. They’re strong, reusable, stackable and weather resistant, and their uniform size makes them easy to organise and transport.

When your move is finished, we simply collect them — so you’re not left with piles of cardboard boxes to flatten, recycle or dispose of.

That depends on how you would otherwise source your moving boxes, but Eco Crates can save more than just money.

There’s no need to buy boxes and packing tape, spend time assembling cardboard
cartons or deal with disposing of them after your move.

Eco Crates are delivered ready to pack and collected afterwards, helping make moving faster and easier.

No. Eco Crates have attached lids, so there’s no need to build boxes or use packing tape.

For extra security, particularly when packing fragile or valuable items, we recommend using cable ties to secure the lids closed. This can help keep the contents contained if a crate is accidentally dropped or tipped during your move.

Cable ties are available to purchase from Eco Crate when you place your order.

Yes. Eco Crates are designed to stack neatly when closed, making them easy to organise, store and transport during your move.

For added security while moving, cable ties can also be used to keep the lids firmly closed.

Eco Crates are made from durable plastic and are much more resistant to moisture than cardboard moving boxes.

We still recommend protecting your belongings from prolonged exposure to heavy rain or extreme weather.

Eco Crates are cleaned between hires so they arrive ready for you to use.

Because the crates are reusable, they can be used again and again rather than becoming another pile of single-use moving cardboard.

Our biggest packing tip is simple: stop things moving inside the crate.

For fragile items, start with scrunched packing paper in the bottom of the
crate for cushioning. Use additional scrunched paper between items and
in any empty spaces so the contents cannot move around during transport.

Plates and crockery are best packed upright rather than stacked flat, and fragile glasses should also be packed upright with cushioning between them.

For extra protection, cable ties can be used to secure the lids, particularly when packing fragile or valuable belongings.

Eco Crates are ideal for office relocations, business moves and other commercial requirements.

Unlike our residential packages, commercial customers can choose the number of crates they need and the length of the hire period.

If you need to make a change to your order, contact us as soon as possible.

We’ll do our best to accommodate changes before your scheduled delivery, subject to crate availability and delivery scheduling.

Yes, subject to availability.

If you need a little longer to unpack, contact us before your scheduled pickup date. Additional hire weeks are available at a discounted rate for residential customers.

We’ll arrange a new pickup date with you.

If your plans change, please contact us as soon as possible.

Cancellations made before noon the day prior to delivery receive a full refund.

Later cancellations may incur a 25–50% restocking fee.

Customers are responsible for Eco Crates and any other hired equipment during the hire period.

Replacement charges may apply if crates or other equipment are lost, not returned or damaged beyond normal wear and tear.
