Can I change my pickup date?
Absolutely! Just contact us to find an available day/time for pick up that works best for you.
Can I change my order before it’s delivered?
Yes! Just get in touch with us before 12pm the day before your scheduled delivery, and we can add/move supplies, change your box package, etc.
Do I need to be home for the delivery and pickup?
Yes, someone aged 18 or older needs to be present to sign for the delivery. Our team can only leave the crates at ground level. In some cases, we may arrange delivery or pickup from a safe, unattended location upon request.
What is your service area?
We offer a delivery and pick up service with the Auckland region. If you live within a 15km radius of Northcote, delivery and pick up is free.
If you live outside this area, we charge a minimal fee of $45 for pick up and delivery. If one address falls outside this area a fee of $25 will be charged. Payment to be made on delivery.
Will I save money using Ecocrates?
Absolutely! When you factor in the cost of buying cardboard boxes, the time spent sourcing, assembling, disassembling, and disposing of them, hiring Ecocrates is often comparable—or even cheaper. Movers love Ecocrates because their stackable design makes them quick to wheel in and out of homes or offices, and easy to load onto trucks. This efficiency saves time,
and with moving companies charging an average of $180 per hour, that means real $$$ saved!
Ecocrates are also much stronger than cardboard, allowing you to pack more into each crate, meaning fewer boxes overall. Best of all, we deliver and pick up directly from your doorstep, making your move even more convenient.
Can’t I just get free cardboard boxes?
You can, but it might not be worth the hassle. Hunting down boxes from Facebook groups or recycling bins often takes more time and effort than you’d expect. Used cardboard boxes may be damaged, inconsistent in size (making them harder to stack), less secure, and potentially unsanitary.
Even if you choose cardboard, you’ll need to tape them up and hope they hold your
belongings. Plus, they don’t have handles, making them harder to carry. We could go on, but you get the idea! Eco Crates offer a cleaner, sturdier, and much more affordable and efficient solution.
Are Eco Crates cleaned between uses?
Yes! Our cleaning crew thoroughly clean each crate by hand after each use, using eco-friendly cleaning products.
How big are the Ecocrates?
Our large crates are designed for easy moving! Each one holds 73L—spacious enough for packing but not too big to carry comfortably. Each crate can hold up to approx 25kg.
What days and hours do you deliver & pick up?
Our vans are delivering Ecocrates Monday-Saturday between 9am – 4pm. You can select your preferred delivery/pick up time when placing your order online. If we are unable to meet this time, we will contact you to arrange another time suitable to yourself.
Is there a delivery/pick up fee?
We off free delivery and pickup within our service area when you order one of our crate packages. For locations outside these zones but still within Auckland, there’s a flat $45 fee, which covers both delivery and pickup. Should one address fall outside this zone a charge of $25 will apply. Payment to be made on delivery.
Can Ecocrate help with packing?
Ecomove, our sister company, offers a comprehensive downsizing, pack, move and unpack service. Let us know what you need help with and we’ll happily provide a quote.
What are the replacement fees for lost or damaged equipment?
For items damaged or not returned, there is a $50 replacement fee per crate and $125 per
moving trolley. Prices inc gst.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand moving plans can change for any number of reasons. If you would like to
cancel an order, it must be done by noon the day before your scheduled delivery date to
receive a full refund. If an order cancellation is made after this time but before the delivery, there is a 25% restoking fee. If an order is cancelled at the time of the delivery, there is a restocking charge of 50%.
